What made you decide to pursue a career in the beauty industry?
The beauty industry is always something I’ve been interested in. Even from a young age I loved braiding and styling my sisters and cousins hair. Now with seeing people be successful in the industry on social media it’s really further sparked my interest and makes me want to do it for myself! Jordin
Ever since I was little I have had a passion for beauty and making others feel good. I decided to pursue a career in the beauty industry because it perfectly describes my dream job. Kalyn
Growing up as the oldest in a Hispanic house hold can be a lot of stress. Which is why I would always be watch videos people doing hair and makeup and try to recreate it myself, it made me feel good and relieved me of my stress. That’s why the beauty industry means so much to me, it makes me happy! Jenny
What does your involvement look like in the industry now?
Right now I enjoy finding products that I really love and trying new things on myself. I also am always down to help out a friend looking for new products or if they want me to just play around and style their hair for them. Jordin
My involvement in the industry now looks like loads of self care. I focus hard on finding new beauty routines that help me feel confident. I also spend some of my time talking to estheticians so I can be more prepared for my upcoming future! Kalyn
Im from a small town in Iowa so not very much to do. However on my free time I love to spend time with my family and work. I also go to my internship at a salon once a week and just observe the girls, I have learned a lot already. Jordin
What made you decide on Capitol Beauty School?
I decided on Capitol because it's only two hours away from home, and I heard its the "Hidden Gem" of Omaha. Jordin
I decided on Capitol for many reasons, one being the environment. Everyone is so welcoming and positive, working as a team to reach their career goals! Kalyn
I decided on Capitol because I have seen and heard so many great things from Capitol. When I toured Capitol for the first time I knew that it was going to be somewhere full of success for me. I felt the positive energy immediately. Jenny
What is something that scares you, you want to overcome during school?
Something that scares me is being a little bit shy. Obviously I’m going to have to talk to people in this industry so being super shy isn’t going to workout. I think that this won’t be a huge problem once I get going in school! Jordin
Something that scares me that I want to overcome during school is having more confidence for my career choice afterwards. I believe I will find my passion, whether it be facials, lashes, waxes, or all 3. It's exciting but nerve racking thinking about what you might specialize in. Kalyn
The second I walked through those doors, the environment of everyone working just felt right and made me feel good like this was the place for me. I loved how open and bright the school was, and the work of past graduates were amazing. Jenny
What are you looking forward to most when starting school?
When I start school I look forward to finding what I’m best at! Then I’d love to really perfect whatever that is. Jordin
I am looking forward to meeting so many new people and building relationships that may last me forever. I am also looking forward to learning all these new beauty techniques that I have never been introduced to before. Kalyn
I’m looking forward to learning new things, and building relationships! Jenny
What made you decide to pursue a career in the beauty industry?
“I decided to work in the beauty industry for my passion of chemistry regarding hair dye, as well as the emotional connection you make with someone when providing them a service that makes them feel beautiful. I believe everyone deserves to feel that way and am thrilled to be going into this industry!”
What made you decide on capitol?
“Personally I decided on Capitol because of a recommendation of a friend! Since then I have been even more confident in my decision based on every review I’ve heard!”

“Currently I have a regulated hair routine but I am always dming stylists, commenting on their posts, and even in person asking all the questions I can to keep myself informed!”
What is something that you want to overcome during your time here at Capitol?
“Something that scares me that I want to overcome during school is failure. This is obviously because my failures would be semi permanent on someone’s body! I want to be confident enough in my skills to know I’m making the right decisions for every individual.”
How do you plan to make an impace on people’s lives when you begin school?
“I hope to make an immediate impact on all my peers by showing them kindness and building a community by helping each other! This goes along with wanting to help every individual person find the beauty within themselves, sometimes all it takes is a haircut!”
what are you looking forward to most when starting school?
“The biggest thing I am looking forward to is learning the science behind hair color! Although arguably more important, I’m excited to bond with every person who sits in my chair and provide them the best service I can!”
